Eng. for Kids School Day Off Camp - 24254

NEW! Introducing Engineering for Kids – School Day Off Camps
Send the kids to us for the day! We will keep them busy with lots of teacher lead and open exploration STEM projects. Students will be exposed to various engineering disciplines such as aerospace, civil, robotics, and marine through teacher lead projects focused on the Engineering Design Process (Ask, Brainstorm, Design, Build, Test, and Improve). During free time students will have access to activities, crafts, and games which will include short amounts of Minecraft. Our 1-day camps offer open drop-off and pick-up times between 8am and 5pm. Please pack a non-refrigerated lunch, water bottle and snack for your camper throughout the day.

As the weather gets cooler and school starts, it is never too early to start thinking about what to do over Winter Break! Come join Gahanna’s summer camp staff as we bring camp indoors for the winter and enjoy the break from school. Crafting & Cropping - 32251

Bring all your crafting supplies with you - stay all day or just a couple of hours. Door prizes are offered throughout the day and scrapbook/stamping vendors are on-site if you need supplies.
Lunch and dinner are on your own, this new location provides many food opportunities within walking distance. Snacks and bottled water provided, but feel free to bring additional snacks. If you are using electric remember your extension cord.

Class meets at Geroux Herb Garden, 200 S Hamilton Rd. Come explore the changing seasons as we venture outdoors to explore the herb garden with all of our senses through games and crafts. Gahanna Herb Group - 52254

The Gahanna Herb Group is a 5 month program, meeting the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:30-8pm. The program focuses on herbs and their uses. Beginning in January, students will study in depth one herb as well as learn hands-on techniques from the culinary, wellness and craft areas. Herbs will be looked at from botanical, historical, folkloric, wellness and energetic points of view. This cooperative learning environment will also have membership to an online web group featuring reference sources, educational videos, informative guides and access to the Herb Center staff. This learning group is for individuals who would like to dedicate time to earn a deeper understanding of all things herbal.

Benefits include: fresh or dried herbs for home practice; exclusive binder for organization and class materials, 10% off all gift shop items, discount on Herb Center classes and unlimited access to online web group. Ages: 18+

Wild Herb Walks - 52271

Beneficial herbs and plants are all around us, and often overlooked as simply “weeds.” Join us on a walk in and around the Parks of Gahanna. Take home the knowledge of what you may be able to discover growing in your back yard! Come in comfortable shoes and be prepared to venture on foot. We will also discuss proper wild-crafting etiquette. Pre-registration by Friday noon is required. Meet at the entrance signboards at each park.
