CF - Traditional SWIM add-on - 24051

Want to learn how to swim while attending camp? If your camper is registered for at least one week at Camp Hannah – Traditional or Camp Friendship – Adventure, you are able to register for the CFCC Swim Lesson Add-on. These swim lessons are geared towards campers at the CFCC locations, as the sessions are held during the camp day. For campers enrolled at Hannah Park or Friendship Park during the weeks of the swim lesson session, transportation will be provided to the Gahanna Swimming Pool for the swim lesson, and then campers will join their camp’s pool day at the conclusion of the swim lesson. For campers who switch between Friendship and Hannah parks, the City will still provide transportation, so please send your child prepared for swim lessons, even if it is a different day from his/her current camp location’s pool day. However, if your camper is not registered for one of the weeks in the swim lesson session, he/she can still attend the swim lesson; you will just need to provide your own transportation to and from the swim lessons that take place during a time when your child is not at camp.
NOTE: Campers MUST be enrolled in at least one week of Camp Hannah – Traditional or Camp Friendship – Adventure in order to register for these sessions of swim lessons. Campers who switch between camp locations over the course of the swim lesson session will need to register for the swim lesson program specific to the camp they are enrolled at during the first week of the swim lesson session. For example, if a camper is enrolled at Hannah Park for the week of June 4, he/she will need to enroll in the Hannah Park specific swim lesson session. If a camper is not enrolled during the week of July 9, but is enrolled at Friendship Park the week of July 16, he/she will need to enroll in the Friendship Park specific swim lesson session.

Engineering for Kids Camp - 24252

Electronic Game Design- Platform Games!
Papa's Pizzeria is the busiest it has ever been. In Electronic Game Design: Pizza Delivery!, we will create our own version of a platform game that will require players to collect ingredients, make pizza and serve all of the hungry customers. (Students can also create their own theme) We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard to outline the rules of play and characters for our game. Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5(R) to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the class, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5(R) does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

EV3 Robotics: Robotic Control
Controlling robots from afar allows engineers and scientists to place robots in situations that are unsafe for humans. During this program, students will explore the arctic, detonate explosives, and repair a broken levee all while learning about operating robots and using buttons and sensors for control.

Jump Start Sports Camp - 24271

Jump Start Sports Summer Camps
Jump Start Sports Camps are fun-oriented and highly instructional. The relaxed and nurturing atmosphere enables children to learn, grow, make friends, and have a meaningful summer experience. The camps focus on the fundamentals of the sport for beginners but more experienced players will learn more advanced concepts and be coached at their ability and level of understanding. Jump Start Sports Camps also focus on children learning proper sportsmanship and understanding the importance of recreational game play and the benefits of physical activity! We utilize innovative drills, competitions, and games to help teach, as well as to make the programs more fun for children.

Morning Activities: We will begin each day with a morning circle, stretching, and an "Exercise of the Day". We will also offer an "All-Camp" activity such as Capture the Flag, British Bulldog, Kickball, or Running Games.
Theme Sport (Played in the mornings): The camp features a different sport each week. Coaches and counselors with expertise in the featured sport implement a program designed specifically for the ability and understanding of each age group. Campers learn about a different aspect of the sport each day and apply what they’ve learned by playing fun, low-key games and tournaments!

Afternoon Electives: In the afternoon, campers choose from a large menu of electives including swimming, nature walks, floor hockey, ultimate Frisbee, and wide variety of field games and gym games.
